‘Children Of God’ Visit Punyadham Ashram
· During ‘World Disability Week’, 300 children of Kamayani School invited to spend the day at Punyadham Ashram

It is said- we have no disabled children…we have children with special needs making them extra special. How true!!

In accordance with the ‘World Disability Week’ students and staff of Kamayani School & Training Workshop, Shivaji Nagar, Pune paid a visit to Punyadham Ashram on December 6, 2018. What makes these children beautiful is that they are different…special. To celebrate this occasion about 300 children ranging from the ages of 8 to 35 spent an enjoyable day in the beautiful serene environs of Punyadham and moved around without a care in this world.

It was a pleasure to see these youngsters enjoy the peace and divine atmosphere. After taking blessings of Shree Siddheshwar Mahadev & Shree Sai Baba everyone settled down for a program in the Krishna Avtaar Satsang Hall. The talented children gave heart-warming performances which brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

Maa Krishna Kashyap, Chairperson & Sadananda Shetty, President, felicitated the Principal Mrs Ambe & Shri Kalidas Sutape, Manager with other key staff members. The Principal expressed her deep gratitude to Maa & President Sadananda Shetty for hosting such a wonderful celebration and thanked everyone for making the day such an enjoyable & memorable one.

Sadananda Shetty in his address mentioned how fondly he remembers working with this school for more than 45 years (from its very inception) and how it has developed into one of the finest schools in Pune working with children with special needs. Maa shared her happiness for having these youngsters spend time at Punyadham and said how they fill her heart with compassion and admiration. She added that these ‘Children of God’ are close to her heart and she will be very happy if they continue visiting the ashram more frequently. Delicious lunch of Chat, Dahiwada, Pani puri, Dosas, Uttapa and fruit with ice cream/kulfi was organized by our trustee- Deepak Paigude. They left the ashram with goodies like flavoured Amul Milk, Chocolates, Wafers & Biscuits. These angels brought so much cheer and excitement with them and brightened the day with their laughter and smiles.

INIFD celebrates Fashion & Interior Design

Star studded event

The Biggest ever, ‘The Design Festival’ of the millennium, for the first time celebrating Fashion and Interior Design on one unique platform was hosted at Creaticity, Pune by INIFD the largest global network of design institutes and IMG Reliance to select design students for showcasing at the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2019.

This unique Design Festival had showcased a specially curated Knowledge Series with a talk show followed by Design presentation by budding INIFD Fashion Designers and Interior Designers for the selection for a direct entry to showcase and present their talent at the Lakmé Fashion Week.

The event started with a talk about the Knowledge series which was presented by panelists who shared their valuable experiences and knowledge which comprised of Priyanka Modi – a renowned Fashion Designer, Kunal Shah – leading Interior Designer Jaspreet Chandok – IMG Reliance Head of Fashion and Shefalee Vasudev – Editor of ‘The Voice of Fashion’, Ritu Kochhar – Corporate Director INIFD.

The students showcased their designs in a series of over 12 rounds of fashion which were showcased by professional models. The Amphitheatre at the Creaticity Mall was abuzz with excitement with over a 700 strong crowd cheering to the designs of these young budding artists.

The selected Fashion Design students will get an exclusive opportunity to showcase at INIFD LAUNCHPAD during LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK and the selected Interior Design students get a chance to Design Sets of 5 Designer Shows at LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK.

The Celebrity Jury at the design presentation consisted of Bollywood Actress, fashion model, singer Sonal Chauhan who was not only impressed by the creativity of the students but also enjoyed the energy and enthusiasm with which the students came forward and showcased their creativity.

Pune based upcoming Punjabi pop singer Harleen Singh launched his new music album ” Suvaiya Kar Na ” recenly in Baner.

Shruti Jakti formally released the same at Muzi Club in Baner.

LPF welcomes New Lila Fellows & Lila Girls in the Family

: Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) celebrated a gigantic ceremony of the UG-PG Scholarship Award function which was held on 1 December 2018 at S.G Barve Hall, Alpa Bachat Bhavan. 600 girls studying in institutes in Pune District awarded scholarships in Post Graduation, Science, 1st Year Engineering, Nursing, Direct 2nd Year Engineering, and Pharmacy. These girls will be called as Lila Fellow/Girl.
The function was too big to handle in one sitting. Therefore it was split into 2 functions. One in the morning and other in the afternoon followed by lunch and dinner.
Morning function was honored by MR. MINOO DASTUR (President & CEO, Nihilent Ltd) as a Chief Guest and MS. RASHMI DAVE (recipient LPF PG scholarship in -1998, & Technical Specialist, Persistent Systems Ltd) as a Guest of Honor.
In the afternoon function MR. VIKRANT GANDHE (CS & Head, Corporate Sustainability, TATA Technologies) as a Chief Guest and MS. VRUSHALI GAUD (recipient LPF PG scholarship in – 2000, & India Advisor, International Integrated Reporting Council) as a Guest of Honor.
All four were unified in their message to the young girls and their parents, of the importance of educating more and more girls so that they can be confident, intelligent and independent both mentally as well as financially.
The functions were concluded with an address by MOM (PADMASHREE LILA POONAWALLA), in her speech she spoke about how girls are not just great home-makers but also great professionals who have the capacity to not only multitask but also handle all the responsibilities with grit. She made a request to parents to permit and support the girls to realize their dreams and live the life they choose to. She also thanked all partner Companies and individuals who support LPF efforts in reaching out to many girls.
